The music showcases features exciting and engaging live performances of emerging talent in various venues throughout the Durham Region. The performers represent a cross-section of musical styles that people can discover and enjoy in a live music setting. Whether you love Metal, Rock, Pop, or Acoustic sounds, the showcases offer a chance to see passionate bands and artists doing what they love - playing music to an appreciative audience.

Songs Revealed 2011

Songs Revealed is a songwriting competition and showcase that is a component of Reel Music Festival. Music Business Management program students plan and present Songs Revealed annually. It is an opportunity for aspiring songwriters to showcase and gain feedback on their songs from industry professionals. The goal of Songs Revealed is to help songwriters expose their work to the community in a professional and positive atmosphere.

Last year'sevent was hosted in the Marketplace of Durham College on Thursday, March 31 from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM.

The judges that took part in the event are as follows:

• Jennifer Beavis (20 years’ music publishing experience)
• Mitch Girio (Producer and artist manager from Toronto studio Slaughter House 754)
• Peter Munro (Far Beyond Entertainment, Booking Agent)
