Prescription To Rock

Prescription 2 Rock is a series of genre clinics held by the first year students of the Music Business Management program. Each clinic will be hosted by specific artists that fall under each particular genre. This year's Prescription 2 Rock will be held at Durham College in the Student Lounge above the Student Centre on Wednesday, March 14, 2012.

Pop Rock Clinic

Courage My Love are Mercedes, honing her skills on the guitar and writing as often as she can with her twin sister Phoenix, whose power and taste behind her Pearl drum kit matches Mercedes’ chord crunching guitar attacks, the intensity of which belies their age and diminutive stature. David, their bassist and musical conscience, the man who shares their energy, enthusiasm, and commitment to music, is as kinetic as the sisters, a brother in arms whose stage presence matches their own. They have torn up the stages of a number of key festivals like the Vans Warped Tour, NXNE and Canadian Music Week while playing alongside the likes of Paramore, Tokyo Police Club and A Day To Remember. Courage My Love recently became the youngest band ever to make it into the finals at the Indie Week Music Festival not once, but two years in a row.

Metal Clinic

Over the past 20 months, Dancing With Paris has been making their mark in the Canadian Metal/Hardcore scene and the people are talking! DWP always delivers energetic live shows that their ever-growing fan base keeps coming back for more. DWP is a band that is always giving back to their fans. Country Clinic

Cadence is from Whitby, Ontario and an MBM grad. After making it to the top ten in CMT’s Karaoke Star in 2009, she decided to follow her true passion: country music. Cadence tells beautiful stories through her creative lyrics, many of these stories based on her real life experiences. Blues Clinic

This British-born, Canadian resident is a two-time Juno and seven-time Maple Blues award winning artist, blues guitarist, singer, song writer and producer and one of the finest blues guitarists on the scene today. Jack de Keyzer is a masterful, electric blues guitarist, soulful singer and song writer of the first order. De Keyzer has released 7 CD's and 1 DVD as a leader and appeared as a session guitarist on hundreds of recordings. He has appeared with many artists including Etta James, Otis Rush, Bo Diddley and much more.
